The tablets are causing all the rage and the people of Automattic saw it was time to stomp in that world. From now on, all blogs hosted on WordPress.com have an optimized version for the iPad because, according to the company, "nothing can match the visceral sensation to navigate your digital world with their hands." Thus, the 18 million blogs, with access to an interface that supports taps, sweeps, rotation and other common features of IPAD. The look is great, but if some detail is not to our liking or does not match well with the blog topic, it is possible to make a series of changes from the usual administrative panel: typography, images, skin and logo, among others.
Why the need to make this release? As was the case with mobile design, which today attracts more than 150 million page views per month, the numbers for the Apple device are 750 000 and are growing. Anyway, the goal is to launch similar for other platforms, something that is already in preparation.
after learning this news, I must say I felt a (not very) healthy envy, because I am a user of WordPress downloadable package. But Onswipe, the company behind of this development, prepared a plugin so we can install it on our own servers.
